OCU HYGIENE® liquid 100 ml Eyelid skin hygiene liquid medical device - instructions for use.

1 What is OCU HYGIENE® Eyelid Skin Hygiene Liquid?

OCU HYGIENE® Eyelid Skin Hygiene Liquid is a medical device intended for daily hygiene of the eyelids, including the eyelid margin, both in supportive treatment and prophylaxis, in conditions associated with allergy, inflammation, infection or disorders associated with excessive secretion.

• Existing irritation, inflammation or infection of the eyelids, such as:

• eyelid dermatitis, eyelid edge inflammation, eyelid edge and conjunctivitis,
• Meibom's gland dysfunction, dry eye syndrome,
• nuisance infections.

These conditions can cause symptoms of dryness and irritation of the eyes, such as itching, a feeling of sand in the eye, pain and (or) redness of the eyes, as well as being associated with excessive discharge.

• Removal of pollutants, allergens, pollen and eyelid secretions in conditions associated with hypersensitivity/allergy (including allergic rhinosinusitis, allergic reactions associated with physical and subjective symptoms in the conjunctiva and eye, including allergic conjunctivitis and eyelid margin) for both prophylaxis and adjunctive treatment of sensitive eyelid and periorbital skin and eyelid skin irritation.

2 How does OCU HYGIENE® Eyelid Skin Hygiene Liquid work?

OCU HYGIENE® Eyelid Skin Hygiene Liquid effectively cleanses the skin of the eyelids and the base of the eyelashes from lingering impurities and secretions. The product eliminates symptoms of irritation caused by external factors, reduces redness and discomfort of the skin on the eyelids and their edges. It moisturizes and regenerates sensitive, dry eyelid skin, thus strengthening its natural protective barrier. It is recommended for cleansing eyelid skin in case of the presence of eyelid borers.

3 Who can use OCU HYGIENE® Eyelid Skin Cleanser?

The medical device is intended for use in adults, adolescents and, after medical consultation, the product can be used in children over 3 months of age.

4 How to use OCU HYGIENE® Eyelid Skin Hygiene Liquid?

Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, OCU HYGIENE® Eyelid Skin Hygiene Liquid can be used several times a day, as needed. In case of persistent symptoms during the day, the product can be used more often, provided that the doctor consults in advance. Inflammation of the eyelids and eyelid margin is often chronic and, as with prophylaxis after medical consultation, eyelid and eyelid margin hygiene should be maintained systematically and in the long term. For long-term use (after about a month), less frequent use (once daily) may be sufficient to relieve symptoms, unless otherwise advised by a doctor.

Directions for use:

Wash your hands thoroughly before using the product. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before use. Open the package, soak clean cotton pads in a small amount of the solution. Keeping the eyelids closed, gently apply the cotton pad to the eyelid, then gently (without rubbing or pressing) wipe the eyelid and eyelashes using movements from the outside of the eye to the medial side (toward the nose) at the base of the lashes and along the base of the lashes, gently massaging the eyelid in small circular motions, removing any dirt or secretions. For additional cleaning of the eyelid edges: in front of a mirror, gently tilt the eyelid, holding it at the base of the lashes. Carefully wipe the outer edge of the eyelid with a moistened cotton pad, avoiding contact with the eye and conjunctiva (inner side of the eyelid).

The product does not need to be rinsed off after use.

Avoid direct contact with the surface of the eye. Keep the eye closed for 15 seconds after use. Repeat the treatment for the other eye, using a new cotton pad.

5. when should you not use OCU HYGIENE® Eyelid Skin Cleanser?

Warnings and precautions for use:

The product is intended for use only on the skin of the eyelids. Avoid direct contact with the surface of the eye. Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients of the product. Do not reapply a used cotton pad to the other eye. This may increase the risk of allergen transfer, contamination or infection. Do not use the product if the packaging is damaged.

Consult a doctor if there is no improvement after a week, if symptoms worsen, if new symptoms appear, or if symptoms recur.

Although possible interactions with other devices or medicinal products are very unlikely, it is recommended not to perform eyelid hygiene at the same time or shortly after the administration of medicinal products, including drops and ointments into the eye (about 15-30 minutes of interval). In general, it is recommended that eyelid hygiene should take place before the administration of drugs and not after their administration, especially against drugs with slow absorption.

6 How to store OCU HYGIENE® Eyelid Skin Hygiene Liquid?

Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package. The expiration date refers to the product in an intact package, stored properly. After first opening, the solution should be used within 6 months.

Store at a temperature of 8°C to 25°C

STORE OUT OF SIGHT AND REACH OF CHILDREN.

Dispose of unused product residues in accordance with local regulations.

7 What is the composition of OCU HYGIENE® Eyelid Skin Hygiene Liquid?

Ingredients: purified water, poloxamer 184, dipropylene glycol, ethylhexylglycerin, caprylohydroxamic acid, pentylene glycol, sodium chloride, panthenol, inulin, alpha-glucan, Euphrasia Officinalis Extract, Saponaria Officinalis Extract, triethanolamine.
