Characteristics of Children’s Skin

A child’s skin is characterized by a thinner epidermis and a less developed hydrolipid layer, making it more vulnerable to the penetration of harmful environmental factors. A child’s skin exhibits increased reactivity to environmental factors.

The epidermal cells in the stratum corneum and stratum spinosum are arranged more loosely than in adults, resulting in more frequent blistering when sunburn occurs.

Sweat glands in children’s skin are less active, making children more prone to overheating. Another
